Culture Center Stoa organizes a East-Helsinki -region tour during the last week of August. Metsä - The Forest Project will be seen in 3 different forests of Helsinki. Performance dates Wednesday 23.8, Friday 25.8 and Sunday 27.8. Exact times released later in August.

Metsä - The Forest Project at Linnavirta'17 Park Festival in Kajaani, Finland

Metsä - The Forest Project saapuu pääkaupunkiseudulle. Esitys nähdään Helsingin saaristossa, vasta yleisölle avatussa Vallisaaren viereisessä Kuninkaansaaressa. Paikalle pääsee Vallisaareen JT-linen lautalla, jonka laiturilta on 20 minuutin kävely esityksen alkupaikalle. 

Metsä - The Forest Project will have 3 performances on the island Kuninkaansaari in Helsinki. There is a ferry by JT-lines travelling to Vallisaari. From the pier there is still a 20 minute walk to the beginning of the performance, near the bridge between Vallisaari and Kuninkaansaari. At the stated beginning time of each performance the audience members should be by the bridge between the two islands.

We will visit our photographer Isla Peura on our way up north. She has been working in Mustarinda residency for the whole May.

We will visit Stockholm to work for a week in Cirkus Cirkör's Labbet. As the residency is indoors, we will mostly concentrate on aerial acrobatics research on our counterweight ropes and hair hanging.

Working year 2016 for the Metsä begins with a residency with dancer and coreographer Mirva Mäkinen in Helsinki. We are working with her on contact and floor techniques that can be later on applied to our work in the forest.

To finish off the warm summer season of working outside in the forest we will visit Kallo Collective in La Grave, France and spend two weeks working on our project in the French Alps.

We will spend a 2-week residency at Kone Fund's Saaren Kartano residency space in the Southwest of Finland. More information on this beautiful place here and in the newsletter here. 

We will spend a week in residency working on the project in collaboration with photographer Ben Hopper in Finland.

To end our first residency we will perform at the Silence Festival in northern Finland. More information available at the festival's website.

Our first residency period. We will go out into the nature in southern Finland, and continue our journey upwards toward Finnish Lapland. We will start our co-operation with photographer and green care instructor Isla Peura during this residency.
